Today Tonkin has announced their next to produce Caterpillar scale model in their 1:50 Construction Diecast Series:

• Caterpillar 950GC Wheel Loader #TR10010

Caterpillar introduced in 15th october 2013 at BICES the complete ALL-NEW developed 950GC Wheel Loader.
The Caterpillar 950GC Wheel Loader is specifically designed for the Chinese market. It’s built for reliability, low fuel consumption and is easy to operate in a wide variety of applications.
Specification highlights:

• Caterpillar C7.1 Acert Stage IIIA (Tier 3) Engine
• Net Power – ISO 9249: 225hp
• Std Bucket: 4.1 yd3
• Wheelbase: 130 inch.
• Dump clearance: 120 inch

The scale model will be, if all goes according to plan, available for sales before the end of 2013.

NEW! Cab Guard - for Excavator Cab Protection [ISM 1:50]

Industrial Scale Models recently introduced a Cab Guard - for Excavator Cab Protection for Large Excavators in 1:50th scale.

The man behind ISM, Eric W. Pioszak, well known for his Hand Built and custom Demolition attachments and scale models succeeded in launching a very nice addition to upgrade your Hydraulic Excavator scale model.

These Cab Guards are professionally injection molded in black plastic, Have an integrated hand rail and mirror. Shown here in the photos as one piece, however it is cast as two separate interlocking pieces. Mock up photos, loose fit to assorted models. keep in mind, these are loose fit, without adhesive or any modification to the base models so in some images alignment may appear to be off. in some cases the lights and hand rails on the existing model may need to be modified for a better fit.

They will fit for certain your Caterpillar 5110B, 330D, 365B and 325C. Any other fit requests? If Eric has the model, He shall be happy to test it out.

UPDATE! The making of....a Bushmaster Troop carrier

Custom scale model builder Ciprian Ursulescu from CypModels has recently started his next project: 

Developing and building a Bushmaster Troop carrier in 1:48th scale.

It is our goal for the coming period in this "Making of a ...Bushmaster Troop carrier" to show how this custom model will be achieved. 

Ciprian Ursulescu, will share his building skills through its construction photos with little notes from Carol Westerhoff and me to keep you informed of his progress. Gradually it shows you the making of a unique model of the Bushmaster Troop carrier.

At the french website Photostp.free.fr you find the very active French-speaking forum “PhotosTP” for earthmoving and construction equipment. "..TP" is the French abbreviation for: Travaux Publics, freely translated into Englisch: public works.
