I added an update of this "The making of...Caterpillar 527". This
episode shows you how Ad Gevers does the finall Assembly and spraying of
the model in the Caterpillar colors.

Custom scale model builder Ciprian Ursulescu from CypModels has recently started his next project developing and building in 1:50th scale of the:
- DJB D35 Articulated Dump Truck
It is our goal for the coming period in this "Making of... a DJB D35 Articulated Dump Truck"
to show how this custom model will be achieved. Ciprian Ursulescu, will
share his building skills through its construction photos with little
notes from me to keep you informed of his progress. Gradually it shows
you the making of a unique model of the DJB D35 Articulated Dump Truck.

Quarter Kit has announced, on our request, to produce in
2014 a small new production run of his unique kit from the GASO.LINE
Military series in 1:48th scale:
- Caterpillar D7 Armoured Bulldozer #GAS50123K
Caterpillar
produced during World War II the Caterpillar D7A 1T1001 series Armoured
Bulldozer. They where 138 pieces manufactured in 1943 and used during
operation OVERLORD, D-Day 6th June 1944 and followed the Allies across
Europe.
The Caterpillar D7 was protected with Armour plated 7mm thick and was equipped with a rear mounted Hyster D7N winch.
Thanks
to its overall armour it could operate very closely to the frontline.
The operator used the side-welded rungs to climb into this roofless
dozer. The whole engine compartment was fully armoured either. The
rollers of the suspension system were equally protected with some steel
armour-plating.
As a complement to its regular use for general
bulldozing, this vehicle could if required with the Hyster D7N winch
even tow a 155 mm cannon or a 240 mm howitzer.
NOTE!
Currently, the Caterpillar D7 Armoured Bulldozer is not yet in stock.
First the old mold will recieve some modernization and improvement and
it is expected that by the end of 2014, both built scale model and kit
will be back on stock and available for the collectors. Finall Selling
price, production quantity and delivery time are not yet known, but will
be announced on this website.
In 1995 Quarter Kit,
from Paris in France, started selling kits and built miniatures of
military vehicles in scale 1:48 under the brand name: GASO.LINE. In
addition, there also came soon dioramas and a very wide range of
accessories. They also provide modifications to existing models based on
Solido as kits and scale models that will be released entirely in house
under the name: Master Fighter.
All scale models are composed of
resin, metal, photo etched material for the fine work and offset
printing decals for the type and name designation of each model.
The
man behind Quarter Kit is called Olivier Saint-lot. Olivier speaks very
little English, but in English through his email address gasoline.kit@gmail.com, communicate just fine with you if you want more information about its unique kits and scale models.

CypModels has announced to produce in 2014 a new unique scale model in 1:50th scale:
- DJB D35 Articulated Dump Truck
DJB Engineering Ltd was founded in 1973 in Peterlee, County Durham in England by David John Bowes Brown.
The
Firm built its first Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) a model D250 in 1974,
based on a Caterpillar drive train. The trucks were marketed
exclusively through Caterpillar dealers world wide as the major
components were all Caterpillar.
The range was expanded and sales
grew steadily with Caterpillar buying the rights to the design &
branding them as Caterpillar DJB in 1985 and eventually buying the
company out in 1995.
At present, however, CypModels still
urgently is looking for more photos and drawings in particular, with the
proper dimensions of the DJB D35 Articulated Dump Truck 1:1 in order to
realize an exact replica in 1:50th scale.

- MULETRAX 2400 Multipurpose Track-Type Tractor
Officine Meccaniche Laurini
(Laurini mechanical workshops) was founded by Lodovico Laurini in 1955
in Busseto, In the heart of northern Italy between Piacenza and Parma.
The Industry
quickly embraced the Laurini brand as the pipeline equipment specialist
on major projects around the world, and the firm’s success has grown
ever since.
The Muletrax 2400 is a multipurpose Track-Type Tractor
designed for all the different phases of pipeline joints welding
(welding, blasting, coating etc.)
The Muletrax 2400 is equipped
with removable platform with twist locks fasteners, crane with lifting
capacity up to 12tm, airconditioned cabin and joystick control. In the
welding tractor version , the platform is set to fit in the welding
machine, the power generator and it is equipped with a hydraulic welding
bottles rack. Rubber undercarriage is available in option. Special
