ANNOUNCEMENT! Caterpillar 769C &769D [MDF 1:50]

Les Miniatures du Faubourg has announced to produce a number of new unique Caterpillar scale models in 1:50th scale.

• Caterpillar 769C and 769D Off-Highway Trucks

In-house one has developed a number of entirely new variants of the Caterpillar 769 series. Much, very much attention to the details and functionality make them most wanted in every Caterpillar collection. These models will be presented at the Modelshow Europe on March 22, 2014. Sales price for a build model is 265,- euro and a kit will cost 135,- euro.

NEWS FLASH! Tonkin Replicas goes KAMAG!

Tonkin will start making KAMAG scale models in 1:50th scale. Great news and it will give us collectors more unique scale models.

On my personall wishlist: KAMAG U-frame Slag Pot Transporter 2802-130 powered by a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine.

ANNOUNCEMENT! Caterpillar 982M Wheel Loader [Norscot 1:50]

Norscot has released the first photo off their next to release Caterpillar scale model in their 1:50 Construction Diecast Series:

• Caterpillar 982M Wheel Loader # 55292

The Caterpillar 982M Wheel Loader is released by Caterpillar late 2013. The new all-purpose Caterpillar 982M joins the Medium Wheel Loader programm. The Caterpillar 982M is a 2-pass match for larger on-highway trucks, but it is not restricted to aggregates and loose material re-handling. Design changes in the frames, linkage, hydraulics, horsepower and powertrain extend the application range of the Caterpillar 982M to sand and gravel and earth bank excavation and even face loading in shot rock applications. The Caterpillar 982M has longer standard lift arms than the 980M, making it a great rail car loader due to the higher hinge pin height. With a full range of bucket sizes and types plus other available work tools, the Caterpillar 982M Wheel Loader provides a new option in this size class.
Specification highlights:

• Caterpillar C13 EPA Tier 4 Final ACERT™ engines
• Net Power – ISO 9249: 392hp
• Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight: 79,829lb
• Bucket Capacities: 6.0 yd3 - 18.3 yd3
• Bucket pin height std/high lift): 186in.

This model is by Norscot equipped with a standard bucket that scoops and dumps and a detailed operator's compartment. The model has articulated steering in the Front and the Rear axle oscillates up and down. The Tires have realistic tire tread. Finishing touch are the realistic railings and grab bars and the authentic Caterpillar graphics. Retail Price: US $98.95 plus shipping. The scale model will be, if all goes according to plan, available for sales in the summer of 2014.
